The San Diego Breastfeeding Center Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 devoted to reducing socioeconomic and racial disparities in chest/breastfeeding support by increasing access to qualified lactation consultants for marginalized groups, such as BIPOC individuals and low-income families.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for SDBFCF’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. She or he will initially develop deep knowledge of core programs, operations, business plans under guidance of the Board of Directors.

HOW TO APPLY
- Responsible for planning, organization, and direction of the organization’s operations and programs.
- Develop and implement consistent inventory and cost accounting policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics.
- Oversee and report on the organization’s results for the board of directors.
- Provide leadership to and manage the efforts of staff and clinic independent contractors
- Coordinate and lead annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, and periodic forecast updates with board president and treasurer.
- Retain a diverse, highly qualified staff, independent contractors, and volunteers by providing career coaching, growth, and personal development for workers.
- Ensure that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.
- Oversee fundraising planning including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals and administering fundraising records and documentation.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with other nonprofits, companies, and local governments that support target communities. Act as a spokesperson for the organization’s mission and programs to relevant stakeholders.

- Ability to embody and convey the organization's values and mission.
- Ability to take ownership of a project from start to finish, suggest best practices, and follow up with all involved for project completion.
- Ability to learn autonomously and regularly train others on new systems or best practices
- Superior organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Exceptional communication skills to be applied amongst the board, staff, independent contractors, community partners, and donors.
- Ability to troubleshoot, continuously improve processes, and ability to lead the rest of the team with these improvements.
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Strong knowledge of Google Drive and Sheets
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Public Health, Nonprofit Management preferred
- 2 or more years management or supervisory experience
- Certified Lactation Educator or Consultant preferred or willingness to enroll in one of these courses within 1 month of being hired
- SD network, ability to connect with & integrate with local business & maintain partnerships
JOB DETAILS
- This is a part time (15-20 hours per week), non-exempt base rate position.
- Hourly salary - $32/hour
- Must be located in San Diego County
