We know there is a disparity in health access in this country that falls along racial and socioeconomic lines. Black and Brown birthing parents face a far greater danger to themselves and their babies than their white counterparts during pregnancy and childbirth. And it doesn’t stop there: BIPOC communities lack hospitals that are “baby friendly;” that genuinely support breast and chestfeeding, and lactation service providers are often sparse and inaccessible due to cost and location.
These barriers increase the risk for lifelong health concerns for both birthing parent and child.
The Milk Circle fund provides life changing healthcare for our most vulnerable families through reduced or no-cost lactation support for BIPOC and low-income families! It ensures continued monetary support for these lactation visits so we can focus on what matters most: our families. If 400 people contributed $1/day, we could sustain this program continuously.
Make a direct impact in your community for $1/day (billed monthly).
