Administrative Assistant
The San Diego Breastfeeding Center Foundation is looking an administrative assistant to provide excellent support to our President,Fundraising Coordinator, the foundation’s independent contractors, scholarship recipients, and potential/current donors. The goal is to take ownership of the backend workings of the organization to ensure the best experience for the team and donors alike.

The mission of San Diego Breastfeeding Center Foundation (SDBFCF) is to reduce socioeconomic disparities in breastfeeding support by increasing access to qualified lactation consultants for low-income families. We do this by subsidizing free or reduced-fee breastfeeding consultations and classes to low-income and financially-limited families.

- Assist the President in ensuring the organization runs smoothly, details are handled, and the organization can grow.
- Manage and maintain the President’s inbox and schedule, respond to emails in a timely manner with customer-centric focus.
- Conserve President's time by receiving, researching, and routing correspondence
- Recognize process improvements and implement new organizational systems to increase team's efficiency
- Assist Fundraising Coordinator with donor relations and event planning.
- Create and collect monthly invoices for independent contractors
- Manage independent contractors
- Schedule and send preparatory/follow up emails for meetings with potential donors
- Maintain regular communication with the staff, independent contractors, and scholarship recipients.
- Maintain integrity and confidence as a liaison between team members, contractors, and donors to ensure flow of processes.
- Actively seek and retain knowledge of programs, upcoming events, and FAQs.
- Other tasks as needed to support the presidents and organization as a whole.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to embody and convey the organization's values.
- Ability to take ownership of a project from start to finish, suggest best practices, and follow up with all involved for project completion.
- Ability to learn autonomously and regularly train others on new systems or best practices (watching tutorial videos, creating screencasts, etc.)
- Superior organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Exceptional communication skills to be applied amongst the team and donors.
- Ability to troubleshoot, continuously improve processes, and ability to lead the rest of the team with these improvements.
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Strong knowledge of Google Spreadsheets
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
JOB DETAILS
- This is a part time, independent contractor position. Hours start at approximately 5 hours per week.
- Hours are extremely flexible, but the bulk of the weekly hours should be inside M-F 9am-5pm (PST).
- Pay starts at $17 per hour.
- Work is virtual and you will use your own computer. Reliable computer and internet connection is essential.
